Text Box: It’s great to be back at school and back on section, but now we’re at the part of the year where our service to Pew Fine Arts Center starts to pick up. Our main responsibilities are to usher at student and senior recitals and any other duties as the Fine Arts College sees fit. While all the members of the group play a role in serving our purpose, some take this service to a higher level. Four of our members serve as key holders to Pew, one of which managed the arrival and performance of the Kiev Symphony Orchestra this past week.
It is our goal this year is to receive the award for being the group that performs the most campus service hours. This fall semester we will be ushering seven recitals and three Text Box: music department concerts. This will log us around forty hours of campus service not including the service we do with striking sets or with set construction.
As you can see we remain committed to our founding goals and find it a pleasure to serve the Fine Arts Program of Grove City College.
We’re looking forward to an exciting and busy semester, hope to see some of you at fall party!
Matt Linneman (‘05) AS Vice President

Text Box: Fall is upon us and with that begins another year of anticipated success for Alpha Sigma Athletics. First of all, here are some quick highlights from our IM seasons last year. Our football team equaled the success of the previous year by winning one game. We fielded two Frisbee teams, one of which made it to the semifinals. To end the first semester, two volleyball teams competed. One team was successful enough to make it to the first round of the playoffs. The second semester started off with a bang with the formation of three basketball teams, competing in the B, D1, and D2 leagues. Both D1 and D2 teams played well with the D1 team making the playoffs. The B league team, wrought by several injuries, dominated the regular season and then fell in the semifinals. Finally, to end the year, we entered two equally skilled teams in the spring Frisbee league. The overall record of both teams was 10-2. The highlight of the season was the final game where both Alpha Sigma teams squared off against one another, with the Text Box: winning team squeaking out a 1 point victory.
As for this year, we have high goals set for our football and two Frisbee teams. The football team, with a revamped offense, plans to build on the one win season of last year. As for Frisbee, with the addition of several very talented members, we are expected to compete for the championship. We plan on forming two volleyball teams and expect success from them both. Our B league basketball team, with key losses due to RA’s, plans to rebuild and looks to once again compete for a league title. Finally, we plan on having a softball team for the first time in two years. Also, the spring Frisbee season should be another showcase of our excellent Frisbee teams. As you can see, over the past two years, Alpha Sigma has been a name to be reckoned with in IM sports and we plan to carry on that tradition.
