Text Box: One of the important parts of our fellowship as a group is in our common bond in Christ. We have continued this year with the tradition of the past to hold group Bible study every Sunday night. We usually open with singing praise songs to the strumming of guitar by various members of the group. We then dig into scripture looking at various topics, or studying one specific passage. We end our time together by sharing prayer praises Text Box: and requests, and going to the Lord in prayer. Bible study is a great time for us to get to know each other better and know how we can support each other in our faith and lives. We also meet on Wednesday nights for a time of prayer each week.

Text Box: had 12 spots open and filled 11 of them with guys who have already become a vital part of the group. The non-Alpha Sig living on section has already expressed a desire to join, and with three RA’s, we have a large pool of freshmen that could be exposed to the group.
I encourage you to get to know this group of individuals. Many of you will be coming in for Grove City College’s special 125th Anniversary Homecoming Celebration. I encourage you to stop and meet them, either as you pass the familiar AS letters on shirts or the infamous jackets, or by joining us at our Fall Party that evening at the Mercer 4-H building. I have met a few of you over the course of my involvement with Grove City, but I know the majority of you, I have not. Speaking for myself, I would love to meet you and hear your old, familiar stories. We are also preparing an insert for the president’s handbook containing various group traditions, before they get lost through the generations and become extinct. I am sure some of the original traditions died long ago, but that does not mean they cannot be resurrected. Any input would be greatly appreciated by the group and will help us remain the same at the core, as we change in appearance. Thanks for your time, and I hope to meet you at Homecoming or hear from you.
 Sincerely,
Bob Kerin, AS Advisor
Text Box: Greetings to all Alpha Sigma alumni! As the relatively new advisor (last December), I was asked to contribute a closing piece to this newsletter. First, a brief introduction: I am also an Alpha Sig alum, a 1997 graduate. I was involved in the theater and “athletic” side of the group (yes, we have played in all IM sports for quite awhile, with the exclusion of softball last spring, for some reason). I became a member in my sophomore year—the former advisor can explain why it wasn’t my freshman year—was treasurer my junior year, and president my senior year. I am currently employed by the college in Technical Services, as the Assistant Technical Director for the entire campus and Stage Manager of PFAC, under Mr. Joe Pisano and Dr. Arnold. I am engaged to Christy Stout, the daughter of one of the original Alpha Sigs, Mr. Dan Stout. That is enough about me.
The group is a very diverse group of individuals, perhaps the most different variations of majors we have ever had at one time, which is great to see. Consequently, the number of members who are music majors, normally a core of our group, is down. However, the members of band, orchestra, and choir are already hard at work to make sure that we have at least a few music majors in the future. Last spring presented the group with a unique and challenging, yet exciting problem. Two members had withdrawn from school over Christmas, three members were chosen as RA’s, and seven graduated or became super-seniors.
